Inside Sales Associate

This position is based in Portland, Maine. 

VETRO designs and builds a cloud based mapping platform that is transforming the way that broadband operators around the world design and manage their networks. Our sales team is growing and we’re looking for our next great sales support, data management, and sales enablement team member.

The Inside Sales Associate will be responsible for a wide variety of inside sales and marketing support activities for our SaaS software development firm in downtown Portland. This position reports to the Director of Business Development, and works directly with the Sales and Marketing team. Ingenuity, enthusiasm and strategic thinking, an eye for detail, quick learning, prioritization and self-organization are important to this role.

Responsibilities Include:

The ideal candidate has at least 1-3 years of direct sales, sales support, or customer service experience, and is interested in using their strong technical software and writing skills to help with the following Sales tasks, including:

  • UNDERSTAND: Work with all departments internally to become a product expert
  • QUALIFY: Ask probing questions to understand prospects’ business challenges and lead value-based conversations uncovering answers to key questions surrounding needs, metrics of success, budget, etc.  Serve as initial qualifying point of contact for inbound web and demo inquiries, with timely and situation-appropriate follow up.
  • EDUCATE: Educate prospects about the VETRO FiberMap platform, and clearly communicate the product value to their organization.
  • DOCUMENT: Document all leads, prospects, and inquiries in CRM.  Batch import of contacts from conferences and paid mailing lists into CRM.  Curation, research, and data entry to maintain a high-functioning, high-quality CRM database.
  • SUPPORT: Support Sales team efforts during trade shows and client visits as needed, including delivering technical pre-sales product demonstrations
  • PROPOSE: Generating templated proposals or other business development materials
  • SCHEDULE: Formulate targeted, in-person demos and prospective client visits in selected cities/markets in consultation with the Ownership Team

In addition, the candidate will ideally assist with the following marketing tasks:

  • Funnel Building Research:  Scan social media outlets (newsletters, alerts, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) for relevant content
  • CRM Database Management and Curation
  • Direct Mail campaigns
  • Update CRM records for email, phone, and address where missing or bounced from email campaigns (ongoing)
  • Work with marketing team to author and co-create marketing content/copy as needed

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience; SaaS experience a plus
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Phone skills are a must – if you have “phone fear” this position is not a good fit, as our team often communicates complex information over the phone and via video conference tools

VETRO FiberMap is seeking our next great Customer Success Specialst.  VETRO designs and builds a cloud based mapping platform that is transforming the way that broadband operators around the world design and manage their networks. The Customer Success Specialist will work with the head of Customer Success and will interface internally with the entire VETRO team and externally with Customers around the globe.

Our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can work independently and grow with the team. Our Success Reps must be fearless, patient, confident, and a great communicator. Our customers deserve superior responsiveness and commitment to support and problem solving. Additional responsibilities include:

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

  • Field incoming support emails and phone calls
  • Learn the product in enough detail to independently break down incoming issue tickets and problem solve for and with clients 
  • Conduct pre-sales product demos, onboarding trainings, and follow on technical coaching
  • Help curate and build customer training and support library and materials

Mandatory Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance:

  • Manage SaaS and Services Accounts Receivable invoicing, collections and revenue recognition
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet schedules, including deferred revenue
  • Process employee expense reports and administer Expensify
  • Manage Accounts Payable
  • Manage employee time reporting system to ensure billable hours are being tracked, recorded and invoiced properly
  • Prepare payroll and manage employee benefits

Sales:
