UX/UI Designer

VETRO FiberMap is looking for a passionate UX/UI Designer to add their experience to a young, growing team producing an industry-leading, cloud-based geospatial mapping platform.

The platform is VETRO FiberMap, a GIS mapping solution transforming the way broadband providers plan, design, and operate their local and global networks. To date, VETRO FiberMap has been adopted by organizations deploying fiber optic networks all around the United States and in over a dozen other countries.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with product managers and developers to develop UI designs for an engineering-based web mapping platform
  • Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your interaction ideas to the product development team
  • Construct mockups that developers will use to guide their programming tasks
  • Continually keep yourself and your design team updated with the latest changes in your industry’s standards

Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an agile work environment and perform rapid prototyping
  • Experience building mockups using prototyping software (Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar)
  • Familiarity with modern web architecture (HTML / JS / CSS)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

GIS Software Support Engineer

VETRO FiberMap is seeking a GIS Software Support Engineer to focus on supporting our international customer base. This position will report to our Director of Customer Success, and regularly interface with the entire VETRO FiberMap team.

VETRO FiberMap is a fiber management and GIS mapping platform transforming the way broadband providers plan, design, and operate their local and global networks. To date, VETRO FiberMap has been adopted by organizations deploying fiber optic networks all around the United States and in over a dozen other countries.

Our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can work independently and grow with the team. The GIS Software Support Engineer must be a great communicator with the patience, confidence and follow through skills to solve problems, vet solutions, explain complex concepts to a variety of people ranging from engineers to salespeople, and provide the superior customer support for which VETRO FiberMap is known throughout the industry.

Customer Support

  • Field incoming support emails and phone calls
  • Learn the product in enough detail to break down incoming issue tickets and problem solve for and with clients independently
  • Conduct pre-sales product demos, on-boarding trainings, and follow on technical coaching
  • Help curate and build customer training and support library and materials

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience; SaaS experience a plus
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Phone skills are a must – if you have “phone fear” this position is not a good fit, as our team often communicates complex information over the phone and via video conference tools
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited direction on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with an eye for new technologies – rapid uptake/learning
  • Proficiency with GSuite and all basic office software; ability to learn new apps quickly

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM and Support Desk platforms
  • Experience in the broadband industry
  • Experience in customer service, help desk or sales support in a software environment
  • Experience with software design and testing, preferably map-based (GIS) software

Node JS Developer

VETRO FiberMap is looking for a Node.js Developer to join our Platform Engineering team.

About the Role

The Platform Engineering team is responsible for the cloud infrastructure and the APIs that support feature development, and everything in between. As a key member of this team, you will help us maintain our existing infrastructure and scale it to support our expanding, geographically dispersed customer base. You will help us quickly and reliably serve more requests to more customers, while ensuring data integrity and platform security. You will help gather requirements and distill actionable stories from colleagues on other teams, customers, and integration partners. In this role, you will have the opportunity to mentor teammates while honing your own skills.

About You

Even though you are generally not customer-facing, you care deeply about our relationship with each customer and that guides your daily work. You are a self-starting problem-solver who balances the need to explore and innovate with delivering solutions quickly and reliably to our customers. You are a skilled troubleshooter, but know when to seek advice to avoid being blocked. You have proven experience scaling SaaS applications in the cloud.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other technical field
  • 4+ years of Javascript, 3+ Years of Node.js, Express
  • 3+ years of SQL (Postgres preferred)
  • Linux CLI/Shell scripting
  • AWS/Cloud experience
  • Proven experience scaling applications for growth
  • Git/Github
  • Ability to train/mentor teammates

Bonus:

  • Master’s degree in a technical field
  • Frontend experience (Vue preferred)
  • Experience with geospatial tools (Leaflet, PostGIS, etc) Microservice/Serverless experience
