GIS developerNate Marquardt is a lead Developer and served as one of the original programmers for the VETRO FiberMap platform. He helped design the product from the ground up while incorporating feedback from the team and real ISP clients, every step of the way.

Nate started working with NBT in early 2014 and has been a “man of many hats” during his tenure. He’s switched roles between dev-operations/back-end work and currently spends his time enhancing the front-end side of the platform.

“I’ve seen a lot of growth since the inception of VETRO, it’s been exploding as of late,” Nate said. “In the early days, we collaborated with GWI (a ISP provider based in Maine) and I’d share mocks up with them every week to incorporate feedback from real users. We needed to make the platform as easy to use as possible. We didn’t want to overcomplicate the user interface. A simple web-based direction is key.”

Nate earned his bachelor’s degree in Media Studies/Game Design and Development at the University of Buffalo.  Upon graduation, he took a Web Development position with an e-commerce pool supply company for awhile before coming to work with us.

On his spare time outside of the office, Nate is a man of travel and adventure.  When he’s not taking long trips across Europe, he volunteers at his local rock climbing gym. Climbing is one of his passions. Originally from eastern PA, he grew up in central and western NY. Currently, he lives and works from his home office in Philadelphia, PA.
